Electrical safety legal requirements

For private rental properties and HMO's, it’s a legal requirement for C1, C2 and FI codes to be resolved. Local authority can issue fines if these are not acted on.

• C1 (Danger present); requires immediate remedial work

• C2 (Potential danger present); urgent remedial action required

• C3 (Improvement recommended); remedial work should be considered

• FI (Further investigation needed)

We can take action whilst on site for some of the fault codes. If more parts are needed or plans need to be made before repair, we will discuss this with you and make a plan of action.

Electrical repairs are charged from £60.00 Inc VAT per hour.

After remedial work is complete, fail codes are removed from the certificate.
